MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY
President
The Board invites nominations and expressions of interest
for the position of President.
The President reports directly to the Maine
Maritime Board of Trustees. The ideal candidate will have a
sincere appreciation for the college’s rich maritime
heritage, history and traditions and be responsible for
effective leadership, have impeccable integrity, strategic
vision, and exemplary communication and interpersonal
skills. He or she will have a demonstrated record in
successful fund raising; significant leadership experience
in an educational, maritime, business and/or governmental
organization; outstanding fiscal skills; and, a commitment
to the support and success of a nationally ranked public
college. Individuals with significant management and
leadership skills and an advanced degree from an accredited
institution will be given preference.

PROGRAMMING COORDINATOR
The
Programming Coordinator position reports to the Director of
Residential Life and Student Services and is an 11-month,
live-in, academic year appointment (July 1 through May 31).
The successful candidate will be responsible for building
and sustaining a holistic environment for students. Duties
include: assisting with planning and coordinating general
campus programming, co-curricular programming for target
student populations, diversity awareness, and passive or
active educational, social, and/or wellness topics as well
as providing a professional staff presence in the Commons
residential complex. This position also entails coordinating
with other departments such as security; monitors
residential facility cleanliness and maintenance needs; and
provides liaison to other student services offices.
Qualifications include: Bachelors degree with programming
and/or housing experience required. Masters degree in
Student Personnel or a related field is preferred. Pay Range
17 starting at $32,298.86.
Teaching Assistant/Technical Support – Level II
The Department of
Engineering is seeking candidates who will support faculty
in teaching lab courses and will be responsible for
maintenance and operation of Engineering Department
laboratory equipment. Lab equipment includes fluid systems,
turbines, heat exchangers,
materials testing equipment, instrumentation, and data
acquisitions systems. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s or
a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in
Engineering, Engineering Technology or Engineering
Operations and/or appropriate and relevant professional
experience and qualifications. Prior college-level teaching
experience, a marine or stationary engineer’s license,
and/or work experience in the marine or power industry
preferred. Full-time, 9 ˝ month staff position
beginning in the Fall, 2009 semester. Pay Range Level II -
20, 9 ˝ months $31,975.05.
