Maine Maritime Academy
(MMA) is an 800 student, public, fully accredited college
located in the
small coastal village of Castine, Maine. The college is one
of six state supported maritime colleges in the United
States. MMA is a college of engineering, transportation,
management, ocean sciences and international business. MMA
is a NCAA Division III and New England Football Conference
member. MMA currently seeks
to fill the following positions: |

Full-time
Assistant/Associate/Full Professor – International Logistics
& Global Supply Chain Management Loeb-Sullivan School of
International Business and Logistics
Primary focus on teaching graduate and undergraduate level
courses in International Logistics and Global Supply Chain
Management – with special emphasis on teaching elements of
logistics management, freight transportation, purchasing,
materials handling, logistics information systems, and supply
chain management. Appropriate research and service are
expected. A PhD or doctorate in transportation/logistics/supply
chain management is required or such degree to be complete by
the end of the first year of employment. Full-time position
(anticipated) beginning January 12, 2008 or August 17, 2009.
Communications Specialist
The successful candidate will report to the MMA Security
Department and will monitor video and alarm equipment and
forward phone calls as necessary. A high school diploma is
required and experience operating a variety of office equipment
is preferred. This is a full time, staff support hourly position
that may also require shift work (evening hours). Pay Range 8,
which starts at $23,847.93 and includes a generous array of
Academy provided benefits.
PC
Support Technician
The successful candidate is responsible for the operation,
installation and troubleshooting of Academy computers and
software. The candidate will also serve as first tier technology
support for the MMA Helpdesk, including the escalation of
trouble tickets as necessary. Good communication and
organizational skills are essential for this position. A+
certification preferred. Associate degree in CIS or similar
discipline or relevant work experience required. Full time
position, pay range 16 starting at $32,752.07 plus benefits.
Building and Grounds Worker - Custodian
Successful candidate will perform all duties related to
building sanitation including trash removal, vacuuming, mopping,
and general cleaning. Heavy lifting required (up to 50 lbs).
Full time position, pay Range 7 starting at $22,860.14.
Assistant/Associate Professor – Marine
Transportation
The successful candidate will possess
a USCG Unlimited Master and command experience and participate
in MMA’s random drug testing program. M.S. preferred. Full-time
faculty position beginning in the Fall, 2008 semester.

Part-time/Temporary
MATH AND PHYSICS TUTORS
Maine Maritime Academy seeks one or more
individuals to provide private tutoring in math and/or
physics at the college level to students with learning
disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's
degree or higher and relevant teaching experience. Tutors
will be expected to schedule tutoring appointments 7-9 PM,
Mondays through Thursdays or at other mutually agreed upon
times with students. Tutors will be limited to less than 20
hours per week and paid on an hourly basis at $25/hour.
SECURITY GUARD I
The successful candidate will possess prior law
enforcement experience. Part-time, on-call position, pay
range 8 starting at $11.08 per hour.
COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
The successful candidate will have prior
public/dispatch public working experience. Part-time,
on-call position, pay range 8 starting at $11.08 per hour.

Utility Worker, Clerk/Typist, Secretary, Administrative
Assistant
Per Diem, temporary positions
working in the Continuing Education
Department, Dean's office and Presidents Office and Main
Switchboard. The successful applicants must possess general
office skills. Utility Worker Pay Range 2, $8.63 per
hour, Clerk/Typist Pay Range 7, $10.62 per hour, Secretary
Pay Range 11, $12.60 per hour and Administrative Assistant
Pay Range 14, $14.35 per hour.

Continuing Education
The continuing education
department of Maine Maritime Academy is seeking a pool of
instructors to teach various courses throughout the year.
Courses include: Automatic Radar Plotting Aids, Basic
Safety Training, Bridge Resource Management, Tanker ships:
Dangerous Liquids (PIC), and Radar Observer. All
instructors must be licensed, professional mariners and have
taken (or be willing to take) a "Train the Trainer" course.
